            Welcome to Samples Renamer Pro

Master your file naming workflow with these comprehensive guides

            Quick Start

            1
            Load Your Folders

Click "Add Folder" and enter the path to your samples folder. You can load multiple folders to work with files from different locations.

            2
            Select Files

Click files to select them. Use Cmd/Ctrl + Click for multi-select or Shift + Click for range selection.

            3
            Create a Group

Click "Add Group" to create a naming group with your selected files. Each group can have its own naming rules.

            4
            Configure & Rename

Set your prefix, base name, suffix, and numbering options. Preview the changes, then click "Rename All".

            Naming Structure

            Understanding how names are built:

            [Prefix]_[Base]_[Number]_[Suffix].ext
            Example Configuration:
            • Prefix: CC_Strings
            • Base: Legato
            • Suffix: v1
            • Numbering: Ascending from 1
            Result: CC_Strings_Legato_1_v1.wav

            Large Projects

Best practices for organizing big sample libraries:

            1
            Use Multiple Groups

Organize files by instrument, articulation, or category. Each group gets its own naming scheme.

            2
            Create Consistent Prefixes

Use prefixes like "LIB_Inst_Art" (Library_Instrument_Articulation) for easy sorting.

            3
            Save Presets

Save your naming conventions as presets to quickly apply them to future projects.

            4
            Use Global Config

Apply the same settings to all groups at once using the Global Config tab.

            Numbering Options

            Ascending Numbering

Sequential numbers starting from your chosen start number (1, 2, 3...)

            Custom Sequence

Define specific numbers like "1,5,8,34" for MIDI note mappings or round robins.

            Number Position

Place numbers after prefix, after base, before suffix, or at the end.

            Date Stamps

Add dates to track versions and recording sessions:

            Enable per Group

Toggle the date button in the config section for each group.

            Configure in Date Tab

Set format (YYYY-MM-DD), position (start/end), and separator.

            2024-01-15_CC_Strings_Legato_1.wav

            Pro Tips

Revert anytime: Made a mistake? Click "Revert" to undo all renames instantly.

Preview first: Always check the preview panel before renaming to avoid errors.

Multi-folder workflow: Load samples from different folders and rename them with consistent conventions.

Save group presets: Save entire group structures (without files) to reuse naming hierarchies.

Sort by folder: When working with multiple folders, use "By Folder" sort to see files organized by source.
